About UsArc Conservation was founded in 1999. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality conservation and restoration services to both the public and private sectors. Arc conservators are fully qualified. Our training and work experience have given us a broad knowledge in a range of disciplines relative to a wide variety of materials. Our grounding in theoretical and scientific approaches have formed the basis for the more practical side of conservation. We offer a tailored responsive service, whatever the scale of the job. Arc Conservation services have been commissioned by English Heritage, National trust, Churches, Historic Royal Palaces, Local Authorities, Museums, Private Individuals, and Commercial Institutions throughout Britain. Arc MembersSam Buchanan-Smith (BA Hons), founder member of Arc, is a part time University lecturer teaching the Treatment of Gilded and Decorative Objects. She also provides gilding workshops for museums and private clients. Michelle Adams (BA Hons) is an established conservator, specialising in Historic Interiors. Previously, she worked as Keeper of Conservation for a Local Authority, assisting with the stewardship of Heritage Service collections. Together, they have extensive experience of working with a diverse range of materials, from remedial conservation through to complete restoration, as well as project planning and co-ordination. |
